Media A2 year 13

Series of band album release material 

A4 magazine advert, I used the same image as I created for the album cover to create smooth synergy between the pieces of work, it easily is recognisable and represents the band and album.

I found when researching that predominately album cover have the artist's name as the name focus and the album name smaller and more discrete.

I created all of the photography for this album using Photoshop

Also the shattered text effect of the band name I created again in Photoshop.

Assembled using inDesign.

Disc design,  outer ring lined effect matched the spine of the case. I also added small details such as the copy right issues and recording information around the curve of the disc as well as the text on the central black section.

Inside booklet provided with the album, simple design.

The border is the same design as the spine of the case and the outer ring on the disc.

Photoshop

This piece was the first picture I designed using Photoshop, I used images from online but took each part as a seperate image and edited and overlaied them together using Photoshop

This is a piece of planning work part of my A2 Music Video, it is an initial design idea I have for a CD cover and magazine advert.

(images have been taken from online as it is only a rough design)

The  image above unlike the other two Photoshop pieces I have given, I captured the original photography. 

I have attached the original photo to the left to show the difference in the editing. 

 To the left and below show two examples of abstract Photoshop pieces I have created from a series of fire photography I captured. Using only the image of the fire and Photoshop techniques I have created this crystal-like images.

Photography

Holi Powder fight photo shoot as part of my music video this year, edited and enhanced using Photoshop.

This is a photo I took earlier this year during the heavy snow, I really like the composition of the image, the symmetric appeal on both sides of the image and really helps to focus the eye down the centre of the image extending the image and creating this infinite illusion to the trail.

  

Photo I captured at a forest concert of The Script and their finale performance to "Hall of Fame". Possibly one of my favourite pieces of photography I have captured

Long shutter photography

Top photo was a 30 second exposure of a trail of light I did using a 3 point light torch, I used colour filters on the end of the torch to get the different colours.

Bottom photo shows the M4 at night taken with a 30 second exposure setting.

Below are a series of headshots I have captured of my friends and actors for certain media coursework.

Art

Examples of some hand drawn work I have done for my AS art course:

This piece of work is an artist study I did, I used two different etchings and overlaid them, I did the etchings in different colours, bottom white and top gold, in order to help the two separate images stand out. The image itself shows the profile of a female, and a profile of a tiger combined into one.

The study of the feather and the half of the wolf face are both done in a plain black ball-point biro pen. 

Artist interpretation work of a fox profile and abstract illustration design, I drew the left hand size in standard black fineliner and the right is a negative reflection for effect.

End of year final piece, wolf and dragon profile drawn in fineliner over open spread books created for a project "magical lands" focusing on the art of storytelling, magical creatures and the contrast between the real and created worlds.

AS Year 12

In year 12 we were given the task to create 3 magazine pages in promotion for a music artist: Front cover, Contents page and Feature article.

We had to create a new band and magazine, create a name and identity for both, take all original photography and edit them according to the the chosen genre of the magazine and band.

I achieved an A for these pieces of work
